Software engineer with a business analyst’s reflexes — I shape the problem before I write the solution.
Brussels, Belgium
I build software at AXA, where insurance-scale requirements have to become systems that hold up in production. Before that I spent close to three years at IOT Factory, first shipping mobile applications for connected-device products, then moving into business analysis.
That shift is the thing I’d put first. Writing the code taught me what a vague specification really costs; writing the specifications taught me why the code is rarely the hard part. I can sit in a requirements workshop in the morning and be in the codebase in the afternoon — and I think the two jobs make each other better.

Turning business requirements into specifications an engineering team can build from.
Personal projects. All three shipped, and all three are still in use today.
A company needed to keep track of its workers’ hours and turn them into pay. Hours go in through the period; at the end of it — weekly or monthly, whichever the company runs on — the app produces the recap that determines what each worker is owed.
Rental income across several properties in one place: leases, payment history, automatic flagging of late payments, and yearly index adjustments. The recurring admin of being a landlord, minus the spreadsheet.
Showcase websites for photographers, barbers and construction firms — small businesses that needed a credible presence online more than they needed a complex product.
